The Plzeň-based Juggler civic association was created through cooperation of the Estela de Fuego juggling group and the Takia Taka drummers in the beginning of 2011. After a successful cultural project entitled Pleasure Station Day which involved workshops, performances and presentations of various young artists from Plzeň, the two groups decided to join their activities and offer expanded juggling and drum workshops troughout the year.
A significant number of these workshops target individuals at risk of social exclusion. The major benefit of these activities is the possibility to spend leisure time in a meaningful way, a way to meet the social and self-realization needs of the participants, developing their autonomy while simultaneously integrating them in the society. The project also strives to present cultural events aiming at enriching the artistic capabilities and social sense primarily of children and youths but also of adults. In this sense, the project aims to highlight the importance of connecting cultural events with prevention of social exclusion.
