We are casting the upcoming WaYting! international project to be developed under the leadership of Veronika Riedlbauchová, director, Czech Republic, and Fatou Traoré, choreographer and dancer, Belgium. We are looking for artists of any circus technique and for experienced performers in the field of contemporary dance and physical theater who are open to creative collaboration and cross-genre work. We are preparing a 3-day workshop led by Riedlbauchová and Traore on December 11-13, 2013 in Prague, Czech Republic. 10 – 15 European artists will be invited to participate based on this call for artists or direct invitations. The aim of the workshop is to assemble a professional international creative team for the WaYting project.
The premiere is planned for November 2014. Rehearsals will take the form of residential seminars in the Czech Republic and abroad.

The invited participant are asked to prepare a 3-to-5-minute solo number on the theme of ”Waiting” using their preferred technique.
VERONIKA RIEDLBAUCHOVÁ – Veronika worked in Spain for two years. She was nominated to direct the Combinat de Circ 39circus showcase at L’Ateneu Popular de Nou Barris in Barcelona which she directed in 2009. In February 2013, Veronika created a successful contemporary-circus performance entitled Plovárna “Public Bath” (premiered at the Ponec Theater in Prague, Czech Republic) with the (bra)Tři v Tricku company. In December 2012, Veronika was selected for the Bazilian Lab contemporary-circus laboratory in Paris. Her portfolio includes a number of theater productions: Vodu po Lžičkách (Water Spoon by Spoon) – site-specific project in the catacombs and the Gorlice hall of the Vyšehrad castle in Prague, Camille at Alfréd ve Dvoře theater in Prague, Očištění/Depurados by Sarah Kane – a Czech-Spanish project at the Disk theater, Prague, Slavík a Růže (The Nightingale And The Rose) – a chamber opera by Jiří Hájek, Hořké Mandle (Bitter Almonds) – a play by Barbora Baronová at V Řeznické theater, and more. Veronika graduated as a director from the Department Of Alternative And Puppet Theater at AMU in Prague.
FATOU TREAORÉ – an established dancer and choreographer with Mali roots living in Belgium. As a dancer, she has cooperated with iconic artists of contemporary dance, e.g. Cie Rosas (A. T. de Keersmaeker), Nadine Ganase, Claudio Bernardo, Johanne Leighton, Alain Platel, and others. Since 2005, she has been cooperating as a choreographer with the Feria Musica contemporary-circus company from Belgium. Fatou teaches at the prestigious CNAC French professional school.
