A performance with an international cast directed by Rostislav Novák which continues the tradition of Matěj Kopecký’s puppeteer family (directing and stage design) as is seeks new ways of manipulating objects and discovers the relationship between contemporary circus and puppetry, freedom and limitations, reality and illusion. The performance was created in the course of several laboratories which provided playfulness and the relationship themes. Actors drew inspiration from people who carry out rituals, work with animals or play puppet theater but modern technologies and movies also had a say. It is a multi-genre international search for a new form of contemporary art.
As children, we have a doll, a teddy bear or an action figure as our best friend. It is our key to the world of imagination and our support when we are down. The toy is the only one who truly understands us, travels with us around the world and hears out our confessions. A doll is a window into the times in history when people ascribed supernatural power to it and made dolls their connection with nature.
